Born in Canada, Paul Marner moved to Holmes County in 1972, leaving his
Canadian home at the age of seventeen. Three years later, he met Kathy
when they were briefly employed by the same company. Soon after they
met, Kathy moved to Cleveland. In 1976, at the age of eighteen, Kathy
returned to Holmes County to stay when she and Paul were married. Within
three years, their son Erik was born, and two years later their daughter
Jaimee’ joined the family.
Since the late 70's, Paul has been an in demand building contractor. His
lifetime of experience helped him fulfill the family's dream of building
the cabins that are now Ferngully Creek. In 2004, Kathy retired from
nursing to devote herself to the business and, more importantly, to
Kara, the World’s Greatest Grandchild, who arrived that same year.
Keeping Ferngully Creek a true family business, daughter Jaimee’ has
recently taken over many of the day to day responsibilities of the
business.
The family’s many interests include church activities, music, books,
motorcycling, vacationing at the Outer Banks, snowmobiling in
Michigan, and enjoying quality time with friends right here in Holmes
County.
